Each year, over 1.2 million students drop out of high school. That’s a student every 26 seconds, or 7,000 a day. About 25% of high school freshmen fail to graduate from high school on time.
The startling reality is that many of these dropouts struggle with reading and math, fall behind, and never receive the opportunity to catch up with their classmates.
But one group of 15 students from around the United States, along with the help of their remarkable teachers, are proving that it’s possible to overcome obstacles and become passionate and thriving learners. These 15 students are growing in leaps and bounds, achieving reading and math proficiency in the face of challenges, and are now on paths toward strong academic success.
