Have you ever seen worksheets with dozens of the same kinds of problems or perhaps riddles at the bottom? Robert Kaplinsky, Educator, Presenter, and Co-Author of HMH AGA and Into AGA, has used similar worksheets with his students for years. What he wonders now, with more perspective, is whether they were the best option for students. For example, if a student correctly solved the first four or five problems, what extra benefit did she get from solving 20 more similar problems? What extra information did he get about what she knew?
Robert believes that we should reconsider using worksheets like these and has a better alternative. In fact, he thinks it’s the single biggest bang-for-buck change teachers can make in their classrooms and he wants to tell you all about it.
In this edWebinar, learn:
- What’s wrong with using worksheets to teach math
- What options are available for teachers to use instead
- How we can implement this alternative with our students
- Where we can get more problems to use
